Living well means enjoying the many seasonal delights of our Lowcountry community. This month’s calendar is a sleighful of events, opportunities, classes, festivals and more.

Thursday, December 3 – Tuesday, December 8

Festival of Trees

You can help Friends of Caroline Hospice and get in the holiday spirit at the same time. Attend a glamorous gala, shop with local vendors and enjoy yoga in the trees. Beaufort Memorial Healthy Kids Campaign is also proud to sponsor Snow Day this Sunday, December 6. Grab your gloves, and don’t miss the snowfall from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Details.

Holiday Shrimp Festival

Celebrate local-caught shrimp! Eight restaurants will compete for the titles of Best Shrimp Dish, Best Booth Decoration, People’s Choice and the coveted Silver Cup. The festival runs from 11 a.m. – 9 p.m., so you’ll have plenty of time to taste every dish. Details.

Light Up the Night Boat Parade

Beaufort Sail and Power Squadron and Main Street Beaufort, USA will launch another fun holiday season with the Light Up the Night Boat Parade at the Waterfront Park from 5:30 – 8:30 p.m. Come enjoy enchantingly bedecked boats along with cookies and a cup of hot chocolate. Boat registration and entry fee must be paid by November 30 for boats to participate. Details.

Downtown Beaufort Christmas Parade

Who doesn’t love a parade? The holiday fun continues in the streets of downtown Beaufort. Come check out the festive floats, community organizations and bands. It all starts at 3 p.m. Details.

Saturday, December 12

Holiday Wreath-Making with Lowcountry Flair

Create a truly special wreath this year with found objects from the Lowcountry in this class at the Beaufort Arts Council. Students will use Spanish moss, grasses, shells and their creativity to make their own original holiday décor. The class takes place from 1 – 3 p.m. and costs $60 (includes materials). Details.

 

Sunday, December 13

Parris Island Band 7th Annual Lowcountry Christmas Concert

Community Bible Church will host the Parris Island Marine band as it performs a variety of seasonal favorites. The concert begins at 7 p.m. Admission is free, and there will be a Christmas Cookie Celebration immediately afterwards. Details.trees-853914-edited.png
