Friday, August 4

Revolution.pngLearn to Salsa!
Intro to Salsa and Bachata is a fun, four-week beginner class that teaches Latin dance basics, elements and combinations. The group class meets Fridays from 7 to 8:30 p.m., and you can join at the beginning of any month. You don’t need a partner or any prior experience. Preregistration required. Details.

 

Saturday, August 5

Black night paint.pngBlack Light Paint Night
At Black Light Pain Night, everything glows including the paint! Enjoy a unique night out with friends or your sweetheart and create a one-of-a-kind masterpiece along the way. Ten percent military discount with military ID. Details and Registration.

 

Sunday, August 6

Have fun, stay cool and help local nonprofits via Beaufort Charities’ Summer Soak Down, scheduled from 12 until 5 p.m. at Beaufort Town Center. Bring the kids (ages 2-4) or drop off older kids (ages 5-12) to enjoy water slides, water games, hot dogs and other concessions by Cooking Just for Fun and Lee Distributors. Don’t miss the free concert by Steel Rail Express. Details.

The Dolphin Research Cruise, a collaborative effort of Dr. Montie’s Marine Sensory and Neurobiology Lab at the University of South Carolina Beaufort and Spartina Marine Education Charters, is a midday ecotour that benefits dolphin research. Join biologists as they document dolphin activity, take photos of dorsal fins, and listen to dolphin communication. Reservations required. Details and Booking.

Nautilus_Live.jpgNautilus Live Lunch & Learn
Join Dr. Robert Ballard, discoverer of the Titanic and other sunken treasures, on a livestream of an underwater expedition of the ocean floor at the Port Royal Sound Foundation’s Maritime Center. Researchers aboard E/V Nautilus will visit the center’s classroom via livestreaming video from 12:30-2 p.m. Your ticket includes the underwater experience and lunch. Details.

Experience the phenomenal beauty of the upcoming total solar eclipse at Beaufort Academy. The free public event will begin at 1:30 p.m. and feature science displays, guest speakers, eclipse glasses (while they last) and viewing of the amazing eclipse on the Beaufort Academy football field. Eco Boat Tour
