For years, health care has dominated much of the national conversation. Our country has been in a protracted discussion over who can have it, how it should be acquired, how it’ll be paid for, and any number of related questions that greatly impact our everyday lives.

While we don’t know what the eventual solution will be, this much is true: Americans need effective, efficient health care. That’s the important work Beaufort Memorial Hospital has been focused on for generations and will continue to focus on despite the ongoing uncertainty.
I wanted to share with you the ways your community hospital is moving ahead despite the uncertain national landscape. If there’s been one silver lining in the dissection of health care, it’s that hospitals and health care systems must be more innovative. Our focus has shifted away from volume toward beneficial outcomes. We’re working with new levels of transparency and re-designing health care experiences with patients at the center.
In upcoming posts, I’ll share details about two key factors that I believe are shaping your health care more productively than legislation: innovation and quality.
I want you to know that Beaufort Memorial isn’t waiting for someone else to tell us how to serve our community. Every day, we are putting what we know about trends, utilization, successes and failures to work to bring ever greater efficiency and effectiveness to our passion for helping others.
So as the debate rages on, know that Beaufort Memorial is hard at work. Our commitment is the same as it has always been: to deliver to you and your family health care that’s of the highest quality, highest value and lowest cost.
